Kuat Vegabond, Roof Rack

Seeing a new company (Kuat - Pronounced Koo-At) come out with a roof rack at a great price is good, one that builds a bike rack into the Rack itself is genius. 
The Vegabond is just that a prefect rack for cars/SUV.
Kuat Racks was founded in 2007 by Luke KUschmeader and Brian ATkinson, riding partners from way back. The guys had a passion for all things bike and wanted to become a larger part of the bike community. Cannondale SuperSix, Great All Around Bike!

Slowtwitch.com has this great review of the Cannondale SuperSix, summed up light and fast. One of the biggest things that I noticed was the Tune QR road skewers reach an astonishing 33g for the set, that is nuts. If you are looking for an all around road.tri bike well then the SuperSix, will get it done, I am not talking full Ironman's but sprints with a full areo kit would do the trick.

Trek Carbon Recycling Program

Trek Bicycle has started a carbon fibre recycling programme at its US manufacturing facility.

Trek's first full carbon frames were the 5500 and 5200 in 1992 but the material has long been thought to be impossible to fully recycle, with waste instead being sent to landfill.

But, through a partnership with Materials Innovation Technologies, Trek has successfully completed a three month trial period to determine the viability of adopting the process as part of the manufacturing process in Waterloo, Wisconsin.

"One of the company's major initiatives is that we will work to drive more eco-friendly processes into everything that we do," said Trek senior composites manufacturing engineer James Colegrove.

"Carbon fibre recycling holds massive potential not just for Trek, but the entire industry."

Throughout the manufacturing process, Trek collects excess trimmings, non-compliant molded parts and combines it with select reclaimed warranty frames to send to MIT's South Carolina facility to begin the reclamation process, with between 1,590-2,040kg of scrap already being sent each month.

Reclaimed carbon fibre is currently being used in reinforced thermoplastic applications while research and development is ongoing for use in automotive, aerospace, medical, and recreational applications.

"Throughout the trial period we worked with Trek to show them how beneficial carbon recycling can be to their overall business practices," added MIT president and CEO Jim Stike.

"Working with a world leader like Trek to help them become the first bicycle company to begin recycling carbon fibre is very exciting for us."

Trek's I mean Trash Dream Bike Giveaway

WHAT A SHAM!

So watching the tour there is this bike promo by Trek driving users online for a chance to win 10 bike in 10 days. Now I am hooked who does not want a free bike, enter email and click spin for a chance. Off it goes and each time, every time that same spin happens you get the image below. I am not sore about losing I am sore that even in Vegas they show you a different number/cherry/card, whatever, not Trek, they don't even try to hide their cheating.

Using technology today the least you could do is show a different losing image, make us feel as though we are not being cheated. Was this not tested? Really? As thought the Tour does not suffer enough back lash Trek goes and taints it with a sham of a promotion to get leads.
This is crap, Trek has had a lot of success with the Tour and Lance, expect more from a company that hinges a lot of bike sales to one person and seven Tour wins.

Trek make it right, some way, some how, to the users you are driving to your Promotion.

Bikes are getting mainstream when great companies put out great product for the masses. The WSJ.com published this:

Kona Band Wagon

I LOVE THIS BIKE!!

New for 2010, the Band Wagon is a Paddy Wagon all hopped up. It's the same frame, with geometry somewhere between true track and road for the best of both worlds, but the powder blue and bright orange deep dish rim sporting Band Wagon features higher end spec than the Paddy-for hipsters with a bit more cake.
